PASSION FORGED WITH DESIGN

FINISHES

With modern technology, pre-finished floors are becoming more resistant and practical. At Pravada we work with three main types of finishes: UV Lacquer, UV Oil/Oil, and Hardwax.

UV LACQUER

Low gloss finish (about 10% reflection). Smooth look and feel. Low day-to-day maintenance. Long-lasting protective finish that ‘sits’ on the surface. Low repairability – if needed, must be refinished by specialist.

UV OIL

Rich matte look. Reflects minimal light meaning that scratches are less visible. Low day-to-day maintenance and high reparability (DIY- friendly, easy to touch-up scratches and restore finish).

HARDWAX

Matte satin look (like natural wood). The hardwax oil finish easily penetrates into wood pores, emphasizing the natural texture and beauty of the wood. Low gloss reflects minimal light, making scratches less visible.

ENDURA FINISH

Low gloss finish (about 15% reflection). Pravada’s exclusive Endura Finish offers seven coats of anti-scratch aluminum oxide and polyurathane. This ultra-violet cured chemical coating is factory applied on the wood plank surface as a strong protective layer to resist dirt stains, water, dampness as well as daily wear in high traffic areas.

SURFACE TREATMENTS

Textures emphasize the beauty of wood. Much like the appearance of wood in nature, textures highlight our special colours and bring the beauty of nature right to your home.

WIRE-BRUSHED WOOD

Our wire brushing offers a subtle texture to a floor while maintaining a smooth appearance. Wire brushing pulls the soft grain from the growth ring leaving the heart wood exposed to the surface.

DISTRESSED WOOD

Our distressed hardwoods feature large, unfilled knots and blemishes to add character and unique detail to every plank.

ROUGH SAWN WOOD

Our rough sawn hardwood has beautiful, against the grain saw marks. Their inherent texture is slightly rustic creating planks that have character and strength. The finish provides a rich and complex surface.

HAND-SCRAPED WOOD

Handsome craftsmanship is brought to full luster with our handscraped European hardwood. Traditional styling is formed by skilled artisans to our specifications.

VARIATIONS IN WOOD

Wood is a natural material, and like all things organic, our hardwood planks have their own unique characteristics. Variation refers to naturally occurring variations in wood color, grain, pattern, and texture. At Pravada, we embrace the beauty of our wood the way nature intended it to be. The natural beauty of wood provides a unique identity that matures over time. For that reason, no two hardwood floors are exactly alike. Some of our floors display minimal variation and more uniform colour; and others show lots of variation that have a wide range of light and dark tones from plank to plank.
